I find your use of the word "preserve" ambiguous in this context. The
meaning I would be inclined to take is that because binaries are built,
it is convenient to have build trees in order to be able to do
simultaneous builds on different platforms. However, you could also be
implying that for each binary in the sipb locker, there should be a
corresponding unstripped binary in the appropriate build tree in
sipbsrc, for debugging purposes. Please clarify what you mean, because
more has to be said if you mean the latter.
I meant both.
