I'm sorry that you're still having trouble with this, but I'm fairly
certain the software problem (if there is one) is at LMU, not here.
For example, the logs on our BITNET system indicate that we've
received "commands" for their node, and the transport of "commands"
and "messages" (which is what TELL generates) is virtually identical.
We don't make any logs of messages, though.
One possibility is that the TELL program on LMUACAD is not capable of
sending messages over BITNET. An alternative to try is the "CP SMSG"
command, e.g.,
cp smsg rscsv2 msg mitsipb apieczan the text of the message
should be equivalent to
tell apieczan at mitsipb the text of the message
but may work in cases where TELL is broken.
In general, though, I think this problem is best approached from the
LMU end. Could you please ask the person at LMU to get in touch with
the consultants or system manager there, and ask for help on this?
