I suspect BINGVAXA may be running with an older version of the BITNET
node tables that don't include MITSIPB. I sent mail to the maintainer
of the BITNET software on BINGVAXA, asking him to upgrade to the
latest tables.
I pointed out that interactive messages and commands to BINGVAXA from
MITVMA appeared to be working reliably (e.g., SM RSCS CMD BINGVAXA CPQ
U SYSTEM). Also, I noted that MITSIPB could communicate with other
nodes at SUNY Binghamton (BINGVMA, BINGVMB, BINGTJW, and SUNYBING).
Finally, I asked whether they support Internet talk (although I doubt
it, since I don't think it's available with the UCX TCP/IP software
for VMS, which it what they're using).
I'll let you know if I hear anything back.
