A user came to the SIPB office reporting a problem with xfig. He
claims that xfig will sometimes hang when moving a compound object. In
his experience, only the xfig program hangs (i.e., it won't accept
further input), not the whole workstation. He had this problem today,
and believes he has had the same problem frequently in the past. He
was not sure if it was specific to any particular machine type.
I've never seen it happen, and I've used compound objects a bit. If
he can reproduce it in the new xfig, I'll certainly report it back to
the maintainer, but until then, there isn't much we can do....
