I'm running on w20-575-91, a vax 3100 with athena 7.3.

I did a subject search (forward) for "ircle" in the group "sci.skeptic". The
normal behavior of "Continue" seems to be that it puts up a temporary button
"Cancel Search" which disappears when the search key has been found. However,
when the search has been exhausted, the button disappears and then a
window frame in need of placement appears. The window frame is 125x19.
Once I place the window frame somewhere, it immediately vanishes.

If I reinitiate the search from a point where the key will be found, the
window frame doesn't materialize. If I reinitiate it from a point where
the key won't be found, it does materialize.

I started another search with "arms" and the bug did not occur, but then
started a third seach with "ircle" and the bug did occur.

In case the problem has something to do with the specific article titles
present when the search occurred, the numbers our news server has assigned
to them, etc., here's the info on how I used xrn.

     1. I started up xrn and selected sci.skeptic. The articles ranged
from 61129-61645. I don't know how many in that range, if any, had
expired. The sci.skeptic entry in my .newsrc was

sci.skeptic: 1-61111,61172,61178,61211,61231,61237,61241,61256-61257,61290,61316,61327,61333,61344,61350,61357,61365,61371-61372,61381-61382,61386,61393,61443,61445-61446,61463,61479,61485,61488,61502,61504-61505,61515,61520,61522,61532-61533,61537,61557,61573-61574

     2. I read the first article (61129) since xrn automatically made me do so.
     3. I did "Subject Search" for "ircle" forwards, reading all the articles
in sequence using "Continue". The bug then manifested itself as
        previously explained.
