Are you still getting the error message "discuss-old-ss". Try running
discuss without any discuss customizations, and let me know if you're
stilling having the problem.
I attempted to duplicate the problem by doing a "emacs -u" followed by
"M-x load-file /mit/sipb/lib/elisp/discuss.elc", "M-x discuss",
"g" (to enter a meeting), "q" (to exit a meeting), and I was unable to
duplicate your problem. (Indeed, I went and read all of my normal
discuss meetings without getting the error message "discuss-old-ss' is
undefined.
That variable is set by discuss-send-cmd the first timem it needs to
spawn off the edsc process. I suspect that either the right version of
discuss.el isn't being loaded, or something is shadowing the
discuss-send-cmd function, possibly an older version of
emacs-discuss(?).
Anyway, let me know if you're still having the problem, because I can't
reproduce it at my end.
