This error is caused by the workstation (or process) running out of
memory. If you can reproduce this, on an unloaded, uncomplicated
picture, I'd be interested in seeing it.

I'm not positive this is correct. First of all, what workstation type
were you on? secondly, you likely were running other processes...
such as your window manager, the X server, any xterms.. also, were there
any processes left over from a previous user of that machine.
(sometimes processes are not killed properly, and they sit around eating
memory).

Again, if you can reproduce this reliably on an unloaded machine... if
you believe it's a bug, and not running out of memory, please let us
know, and provide a method for us to recreate the crash.
