It turned out he was on a machine with the NFS SIPB locker attached. From the SIPB meeting minutes of April 4, 1991: ************************* ... In attendance were Voting members: ... bjaspan(Dopey) ... Computer Services: We have not been keeping the NFS sipb locker up to date. Dopey suggests that we eliminate it since we're not maintaining it. General agreement seems to be that we get rid of it and use the space for something else. Dopey will deal. ************************* So, Dopey :-), what's the deal? And when we said "use the space for something else," did we mean, "Give the space back to Athena," or, "Horde the space even though we don't have any use for it right now because Athena won't give us more if we ask." I hope it was the former, because it seems to me that Athena would be more willing to consider requests for more disk space from us in the future if we say to them, "Hey, we can't really use this 90 meg locker right now, so why don't you just take it back and use it for something else. We'll ask you for more space if we need it." jik
