charon kerberos rlogin, hearts server

I find it somewhat annoying that someone in Santa Cruz, CA has to
reset the hearts server on charon when mail is sent to bug-sipb or
sipb-staff about it, because everyone in Cambridge is too lazy to do
it.

I find it even more annoying that in order to do so securely, I have
to do an encrypted kerberos rlogin to pit-manager, then kinit to
jik.root, then do a kerberos rlogin from pit-manager to charon and run
the command to restart the server. I can't do a kerberos rlogin
directly from UCSC to charon, because it's running out-of-date
kerberos software that the people who maintain it are too lazy to
update. I can't update it myself, because I don't know about all the
special hacks our kerberos daemons are running, and there's cant
documentation about it (the stuff in /afs/sipb/project/charon doesn't
even seem to be RCS logged).

But I will continue to take the time necessary to restart the server
every time someone asks, because I haven't forgotten that the SIPB is
a service organization.

Very pissed,

  jik
