I previously sent mail regarding an unidentified "bug" with macps and how to
fix it.
I have recently discovered the cause of the problem: (not just a way around
it)
Red Ryder (and possibly other mac terminal programs) actually try to use
mac-binary format while sending in kermit. This leave ugly headers and footers
on each file sent. These headers and footers are what is then causing the
problem with macps.
So, you might consider adding something about this in the stock answer page,
since others have asked me how I fixed it) explaining that if
macps doesn't print, they should turn off the mac-binary option of their
terminal program and resend the file
or
they should remove the first and last line (probably junk) with emacs or some
other text editor.
(also, sometimes it doesn't print if you have unknown fonts specified in the
file)
It does work normally if the mac-binary option is turned off before sending the
postscript file... so that was the main problem!
Sorry about all of the garbled messages I've left, and I hope this one clears
everything up (for me, if not for anyone else)
if this does belong in OLC stock answers as well as in sipb's general
knowledge, will someone please take care of forwarding it for me or telling me
to do so?
