HI.

I've been having some problems with xzwrite, and I talked to an olc
consultant who thinks it might be a bug in the program. I'm sending a copy
of the transcipt of the olc session.

here it is:

Topic: zephyr

Question:
Hi. I have a question about xzwrite, a sipb program. When I use it, my zephyrs
 always come up unauthentic.

Is there something I can do about this? Please help me.

I know xzwrite may not be a supported piece of software, so if it's not, can you
point me to someone who can answer my question??

Thanks.

Hi!

Does this happen all the time when you use xzwrite or only some of the
time? Also, do you set any xzwrite options, either on the command line
or in .Xresources?

                                Derrick

It happens all the time, but it doesn't happen right away. The zephyrs start ou
t as authentic,
then change to unauthentic after 5-15 minutes.

Here is the stuff I have in my .Xresources for xzwrite:

XZwrite.geometry: 76x20-80-0
XZwrite*auth: True
XZwrite*trackLogins: True
XZwrite*pongScan: False
XZwrite*addVars: True
XZwrite*autoReply: True
XZwrite*readXzwrite: True
XZwrite*readAnyone: True
XZwrite*readZephyr: False
XZwrite*verbose: True

Well, I've been trying it out with your Xresources and it seems fine to
me. I assume that you don't have any command line options when you
start it?

I have no explanation for why it would be changing to unauthentic in
only 15 mins. When you check the menu you get by clicking the right
mouse button on the Z icon, is the authenticate option lit up after it
starts sending unauthentic?

Hmm. I may have discovered a bug. When I clicked off the authenticate
option on the options menu, sent some unauthentic messages, then clicked
the option back on, it continued to send unauthentic messages...

right. No command line options.

And yes, the authentic button is lit after it starts sending unauthentic.
It seems not to have any effect when I click on it. It will turn on and off,
but it doesn't change whether it sends authentic or unauthentic
,.

I think this is a bug. You may want to report this behavior by sending
mail to bug-sipb@athena.

Thanks for your help. I hope you can find out what's wrong. Please write
back and tell me if it's a bug or not. If it isn't, maybe you can tell me
what to do to fix it. Thanks.
