I think rec.humor.funny is a bad example of the problem you are
describing, because it only has a few old articles in it at any time,
so it doesn't take a long time for the KILL file to be processed.
However, I think I know what problem you are describing. The window
that lists the killed messages keeps on flashing the same text over
and over, right?
I never bothered to fix this problem because I was the only one
who'd seen it, and I only saw it once. But now that someone else has
complained, I'll see what I can do about it :-)
In the meantime, if you use the -verboseKill option when you run
xrn, or use "xrn*verboseKill: off" in your .Xresources file, then it
will only print a count of killed messages, rather than printing all
the subject lines. This is a kludgy way to get around the problem
you're experiencing. I'll let you know when I've got a better fix.
