rn underlining too much

Sometimes when I'm using rn to read a posting that is over one page long,
a whole page gets its text underlined instead of just the first line of
text. I have setenv RNINIT '-e -M -m=u' so the first line of any page
after the first should be an underlined reprint of the last line from the
previous page.
An example of the problem is the third page of three of article 1420 of
news.lists, as displayed on an xterm -fn 9x15 -geometry 80x41 on an RT.
This problem started happening a few day before the switch to picayune.

p.s.: I just tried restarting rn after changing the size of the xterm,
and the problem was still there.
