There are a lot of stupid little programs in the sipb locker which
simson wrote (apparently while learning c, or something). char is
one. owner comes to mind, also.
I propose finding them, moving them to foo.old, and if nobody
complains, removing them. If anybody complains, I'll rewrite them as
perl scripts :-)
