rrn hangs when posting followup

Both yesterday and today I was unable to post followups because rrn hung.
Doing a "ps -ux" showed the Postnews script and inews -h idle. It happened
one time while I was telnetted to athena.dialup (an RT, this time) and one
time while logged in to a uVAX in the student-center cluster. Oh, and when I
say hung, I mean no change for over 1/2 hour (I ^Z'd it and put it the
background after the first 10 minutes). The only anomoly about the postings
was that both had what might be invalid "Distribution:"s. One was "world"
while the other was "gnu".
I asked olc for help, but they were clueless and referred me to you. Thanks
