This is a problem I had in the last version that continue to occur.
The window locks in Article mode if you happen to accidently select a block
of text *below* the cursor location. I.e, if you;re not careful using the
left mouse key, you can get:

article |-------selected text all the way to bottom

Any everything is locked. The only way I've been able to get out is to
kill the program.
