This one is a lulu. I'm using XRN in sortedSubjects mode, and I'm trying
to do a subject scan forward. When I click on the "forward" button in the
subject scan window, the borders and title bars on *all* of my X windows
disappear, and all the windows lock; the cursor doesn't light when the
pointer is in the window. The only thing that works is clicking on the
logout button.
(Sorry I haven't responded to this sooner, I've been busy :-)
This isn't an xrn bug; your window manager died for some reason, and
since mwm isn't smart about resetting keyboard when it dies, you were
left without keyboard focus on any window.
There is a hack way to deal with this if it happens again. On an
xterm window, hold down the ctrl key and hit the left mouse button
(since the mouse still works) and select the "Secure Keyboard" option.
That'll reverse the color of your xterm window, and allow you to type
in it. Start up a window manager in that window, and then select the
"Secure Keyboard" thing again to turn it off; when the window manager
starts up, keyboard focus will work again.
