When xrn's compose windows wraps a word at the end of a line, a
carriage return is not inserted. I believe this can be fixed by
setting the "wrap" resource to "never" and the "autoFill" resource to
   "true", but I'm not sure.

This behavior is intentional; xrn automatically wraps paragraphs
before sending the messages you type. In other words, if you type
paragraphs without hitting return (which you probably do), then xrn
automatically wraps the paragraphs and inserts newlines before sending
the message.

If you prefer to have the Text widget do the wrapping rather than xrn,
then you can enable autoFill for xrn in your own .Xresources.
