gaim 1.1.4 with the gaim-encryption plugin is now installed for i386_rhel3
and sun4x_59 in the im locker and is symlinked to gaim.
gaim-encryption authenticates and encrypts messages sent to other gaim
clients running gaim-encryption over any IM network. The small wrinkle in
this plugin is that it uses a nonce, and the AIM network will broadcast
messages to all terminals you're logged in from. Thus, if you're logged
into AIM at multiple places with the gaim-encryption plugin enabled, you
will get errors.
For more information on the plugin, see:
http://gaim-encryption.sourceforge.net/
I am including the plugin in this build because of the recent change in
the AIM Terms of Service, which reads in part: "You waive any right to
privacy." (see http://www.aim.com/tos/tos.adp)
To enable the plugin, select "Gaim-Encryption" in gaim's Preferences
dialog on the "Plugins" tab.
