Sorry about the delay in responding: Other people have been able to run
gaim on Athena solaris 9.3.18 without problems, which makes me think it
might be an issue with your environment -- possibly, some of the libraries
which gaim depends on are being found in a different place, causing isses
when running it. Can you send me the output of the following commands?
ldd `which gaim`
printenv
