Hi! I'm trying to get gaim to log into ICQ (I just installed Athena
linux on my desktop at home), because for some reason licq doesn't work.
(when I type 'athrun im licq', it says "20:42:37: [ERR] Unable to load
plugin (gtk_gui): libpspell.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such
file or directory.") I'd meant to combine the two eventually anyway, so
I'd rather get gaim to run ICQ than try to figure out how to make licq
work anyway. The directions on the website say:

"In order to use all the different protocols, at the startup screen,
you need to click on plugins, click on load, and change directory
to /mit/im/lib/gaim . To add a plugin, load one of the files with
a filename ending with .so in that directory. Then, you can click
on accounts and add any ICQ, AIM, MSN messenger, etc accounts that
you've used in the past."

But in preferences/plugins, none of the things I can load correspond to
using icq, and I can't figure out how to change the directory to
/mit/im/lib/gaim. The plugins currently listed are all in
/mit/im/arch/i386_linux24//lib/gaim, which I looked in and noticed a file
called libicq.so, which I'm assuming is the plugin that lets one sign on
to icq. But it doesn't show up on the list of things I can load, despite
being in the same directory as all the others. How do I either change
directories or add plugins or both?

Thanks!
