Actually, the olc answers aren't current, and I vaguely remember
submitting an updated answer to this, so I'll ping the OLC fulltime
staff to putting a new answer up, in case it got lost in spam.
I last compiled licq on athena 9.1 (or possibly 9.0), and it uses a
very old version of the ICQ protocol which has been bitrotting ever since
ICQ switched to the current AOL supported protocol, Oscar. If you want to
use ICQ on Athena, I recommend that you use gaim, and create an account of
type AOL/ICQ.
