Hello Jerrad,
Many Windows installers assume that they're getting installed as root, or
fake it and don't work properly, and AIM might not be installable. WinGaim
just might work, compiled from source.
As I don't get to campus much anymore, I can build wingaim, and put it in
AFS space, but can't really test it. If you're interested in testing it,
let me know, and I'll build it and put it somewhere.
If you might be interested in maintaining some Windows IM packages, or
other Windows software on WinAthena, feel free to drop by SIPB and become
a prospective. We have a WinAthena machine in the office, and should be
able to give you some AFS space to install and test packages.
