Which instructions are you refering to? If (as I'm guessing) you're

it's a little outdated. Here's what you need to do:
Go to a terminal window, and type
add im; gaim &
a small window will popup. Click on Accounts. In the window that pops up,
click on add. In this window ("Add Account"), select MSN as the protocol,
enter your screenname, enter your screenname and password, click on save,
click on close in the "Accounts" window, and then click on "Sign On" from
the main "Gaim" window. If you have any further questions, just reply to
