I've fixed the normalization.
> Can we fall back to the old path `~/zlog/people` instead?
Is this behavior that should happen in the C code? Currently we queue up logging tasks for the C code to log on a separate thread, so we don't know whether or not the folder exists until we're already in C. I think `~/zlog/missing` might be a more appropriate name at that point, and we might get duplicate entries, if there are multiple file names that a given message gets logged to.
