The BarnOwl developers are pleased to announce the release of BarnOwl=20
version 1.9.
It has been installed in the barnowl Athena locker for squeeze, wheezy,=20
lucid, and precise. You also can download it from the website [1] or get=
=20
the source from GitHub [2]. BarnOwl 1.9 contains various bug fixes and=20
new features, including:
=E2=80=A2 Facebook module.
=E2=80=A2 The default config file has been renamed to ~/.owl/init.pl. (The=
old=20
names ~/.barnowlconf and ~/.owlconf are still supported.)
=E2=80=A2 The terminal cursor is hidden when BarnOwl is not expecting textu=
al=20
input.
=E2=80=A2 zsender has been fixed to work correctly with cross-realm classes=
=2E
=E2=80=A2 Outgoing zephyrs are now explicitly marked as UTF-8.
=E2=80=A2 The Zephyr default format has been replaced with a short pointer =
to=20

es.
=E2=80=A2 zcrypt startup speed has been improved.
=E2=80=A2 A crash on failure to launch zcrypt has been fixed.
