The blade needs sharpening. It's a much longer blade than I've ever had to
sharpen in my own personal tool box, and I wouldn't want to experiment on
equipment owned by the chapter.
The hinge is loose, and it requires care and shoulder strength to keep the
blade and hinge aligned properly. Perhaps more shoulder strength than the
average middle aged woman has, regardless of mechanical know-how.
The edges of the shelf are rough and could use cleaning up, and the ruler
and guide markings could stand to be re-drawn with a straightedge and some
careful measurements, but that's minor compared to the above two issues.
