Hi Molly,
Our leading is not cut to exact lengths.
It can be off by a 1/2 pica or more.
Selling off the pieces that are close to the exact length is
not of benefit to the shop, & every brother who uses it in the future.
What we have in each length/thickness varies.
So care should be taken to not sell any length/thickness we have less
than 50 pieces in.
If you decide to sell to him, I suggest $2.00 a piece, firm.
Of course, any proceeds goes to the Letterpress Fund.
It be alot easier on you, if he goes elsewhere.
I'm surprised the letterpress he's using doesn't have a lead cutter.
With the number of actives so low, it might be wisest to put each
available service hour into something that benefits more than one
person, and meets a community need, not one person's hobby.
If you decide no, here is some info to forward to Erik:

From an alumnus:
Here is a list of Letterpress Resources.
You might start with Fritz at NA Graphics.
Beside buying pre-cut leads, you could get a lead cutter from one of
these vendors, or on ebay.

Or contact a local letterpress printer to buy the leads you need:

Advice? Can we sell leading to him, or should we just direct him to
alternate sources? (If we do want to sell leading, how much would it cost?)
Molly :)
