I was in the shop distributing old type today, and came across a form
labeled only as "Copperplate 12 pt"

All the type was 12 pt, yes, but there were at least three different cap
heights. There are also four cases labeled "Copperplate 12pt" with a
variety of other size info. I couldn't find a match for the copperplate in
the form I wanted to distribute -- not by visual inspection of the letters
nor by matching groove marks.

Can anyone enlighten me about how copperplate caps sizing works? I'm very
confused. Thanks!
