New Press Use Fees

Hi Press Operators,
The Journeymen and I, as Press Shop Manager, have decided to raise
thePress Use Fees to cover inflation since the Fees were last raised
overtwo decades ago.
As has been done in the past, we are letting the active Press Operators,
have an opportunity to comment on the increase, before they are put into
effect, and announced to the actives.
The Press Shop records: supplier catalogs, invoices, etc. as well as the US
Cost of Living figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics were consulted.
They support this increase:
Per ink color used, perforation/punching, numbering machine (in addition
to ink used), etc.:
Setup Fee
to $ 5.00 from $ 3.00
Per 100 impression or part thereof
to $ .20 from $ .10
Paper, envelopes, cards, etc in shop inventory will continue to be priced
for cost plus. That is, what we most recently paid for an item, rounded up
to cover set-up copies, mis-prints, etc.
Unless someone raises substantial issues, I plan to put the price increase
into effect on October 12th, 2012 and announce it to apo-exec@mit.edu and
apo-actives@mit.edu
