This definitely sounds reasonable. Do other people agree?

Also, it was suggested that we could probably replace the current
vice with a different model of vice that can be mounted on any
surface, so there is not a giant hunk of metal permanently attached
   to any tables. Thoughts?

* Neither of these suggestions are solutions.
They do NOT meet the need.

Ideally, a much larger vise on a blacksmith anvil base would be used.
  Both really massive.

What we have, I have made work. Anything lighter won't work.

Now if you AX wants a monster vise in the APOffice, it would make my
life a little easier, and be quite a conversation piece.

* I'm not against the Chapter getting folding tables or alternative
vises for other purposes. There use to a smaller green vise
in the tool cabinets - might still be there.

* The Chapters collection of tools has also been very valuable for
press shop repair and maintainance. If now, or in the future, AX
wants to reduce or eliminate it, please consult the press shop.
