Hi printshop,
I know Len mentioned the vice is useful for print jobs. Well, we are strongly
in favor of getting rid of the table it is currently mounted on, so we'd like
your advice. The vice is still accessible now, but we would like to remount
it somewhere else and get rid of that table.
Where else could it be mounted?
Nowhere else in the office. See below.
There is also the hand-turned pencil sharpener, but that is less critical
since the electric one does still exist.
The hand-turned pencil sharpener is superior to the electric one. You
can get a sharper point with less loss of pencil with it.
If necessary, I'll try to find a place for it in the print shop.
Thanks,
- catherio
Use of a vise is necessary and essential to maintain and repair the
press shop equipment.
To be useful for press maintainance, and for most use:
* the vise needs to be near the height it is now. That is, it needs
to be mounted at a height so it can be used while standing.
* there has to be a certain amount of working room, around it. Moving
loose stuff next to it is OK.
* the top of the 'table' has to be thick, and the table top
material has able to hold bolts under force over time. The 'table'
has to be sturdy. The object in the vise has to be held well and
steadily.
There isn't another 'table' in the APOffice that meets these
requirements.
Any way to keep the vise on the worktable in the APOffice?
The top of the table can also be used for other things and tasks.
