do you have jillian's email address?

press-ops
* please, if anyone else wants to reply, please do
if i see a need, i'll add on to other's replies
please ask her what model and make of press she has, etc.
including a web site...
* she may have found
http://www.mit.edu/~apo/printing/
on her own
you can also point her at
http://web.mit.edu/apo/www/printing/PressShop/PressShop/biba.med.tufts.edu/%257Ealan/Old/Press/
which is a draft of a replacement for http://www.mit.edu/~apo/printing/
that Alan Meisler did
http://web.mit.edu/apo/www/printing/PressShop/PressShop/
contains some of the files that have been used to manage the press.
might want to move stuff from here to this web directory
/mit/apo/PressShop/
i don't think there are any secrets in /mit/apo/PressShop/,
but it be wise to check before moving each file
* the policies etc. from the early decades are all on paper.
if someone wants to scan them in ...
* we ran the shop with a master/apprentice setup for the first few
decades, but it go that changed over time
* true press masters should be able to assembly, repair, and
reassemble their presses (i can, zok and asp probably still can).
but we would never qualify journeymen, if we required that
it also really takes a hoist to disassemble the large press
(though i have yet to disassemble a large press that way ; - )
