Generally speaking, wedding invitations/announcements are not good
qualifying/training runs, particularly since these jobs are usually printed
in a marathon session to reduce number of times the press is cleaned
and press use fees as well as for ink uniformity.
I can't work on them this month or by the new deadline.
In the past, when letterpressed invitations of this importance were
needed, close friends/press-ops of the brother(s) have printed them,
sort of as a gift given the large time commitment and attention to detail
for so many set ups, differential bedding, etc. while maintaining high
quality.
I realize that there was an era when there were hardly any actives
who were qualified press ops, so perhaps this "tradition" cannot
be maintained for alumni from that era.
Yilfs,
Lori
