2/ I'm planning to get the pricing up on the website, and will contact the
webmaster (who I'm not sure is Ian or Sarah) about that.
Putting the prices up will:
* attract many more jobs.
how many jobs can the the current press ops handle this term?
* be confusing, unless very well done.
the concepts of
** numbering
** perforation
** what constitutes a distinct run
would all have to be clearly explained.
i have always found it easier to deal with pricing one-on-one with
each client. everyone understands things differently and in different
ways, and it's easier to deal with on a one-on-one basis
3/ The printshop will be restocked at some point next week, yay!
(Er, I'm not totally sure about the details yet) Apparently the
budget for the printshop this semester is $50.00, and our treasurer
said she's not sure how much we have in our funding, because the
past treasurers didn't keep track of it last term, and the term
before last, and the term before... etc.
* yay!
* the press fund use to have enough funds in it to buy this much stock.
* what is the current balance in the press fund?
there should be a balance that reflects the income + expenses since
AX moved over to SFAO(sp?), or some time in the past.
* AX in the past, has not had an issue with buying stock to put in the
Shop's inventory
the print shop isn't "using" money spent on adding announcement stock
to the shop inventory, but transferring one kind of asset, cash, into
another, paper.
over time, the paper will get transferred back into cash.
this is beyond the fiscal control/guidelines AX's budgeting process
handles and perhaps AX's current accounting system handles.
but the current treasurer, and perhaps execcomm, and perhaps a Chapter
meeting should be ok with transferring assets this way
* i was told that the problem with not knowing the press fund balance,
is that when AX funds and check issuing was transferred over to the
SFAO(sp?), the press fund balance was not transferred too.
if this is true, it a simple issue, of finding the records @ that
point, and updating the balances.
ANYONE WANT TO VOLUNTEER TO GO BACK OVER THE OLD TREASURE RECORDS,
AND TRY TO FIND OUT WHAT THE BALANCE OF THE PRESS FUND IS?
(i'm capable of doing this kind of financial digging, but will not
have the time until well into the Fall.
training/qualifying, and shop maintenance have priority for me.
4/ We have pledges, and pledges want training. rkw is excited about
the it; schuhrke, wings, catherio said they want to do it, and
fawkes I haven't asked. I think the Chapter's invitations would be
good for these training and qualifying runs. I'm not sure how
hosed/busy the journeymen are/ will be, so please let me know if
you're available to train any time in the next 2 months.
i've been in touch with rkw, and schuhrke about training runs
i'll be in touch with the entire pledge class after the last pledge
ceremony
5/ Also, dnawi and kevinr wants to be qualified at some point soon. Kevinr
said he'd like to print one of the chapter's invitations for his qualifying
run, unless all of them are used for pledge/NIB/ current active brothers'
training.
i've been in touch with dnwai, and kevinr is welcome to contact me and
