At the end of the day we have filled the bed of Curtis's pickup, largely =
with things that have lain moldering since before we were born. Above, =
Cat Natasha in her fierce pre-nap mode. While Leroy meditates on his =
favorite fallen log. Cat Max did his very amusing imitation of our =
maintenance man Gus again last night - he looks exactly like Gus after a =
half a bottle of slivovitz - uncanny!
Kibble or something with tuna in it, I fancy, would be acceptable. =
Curtis knows all this stuff, and delights in it all, and I delight in =
him.
He knows every inch of the way, and who owns it, and who used to own it, =
what they used to do here, and what became of them.
UPDATE - phone service has been restored. At one end of this skein of =
tracks are a few tufts of rabbit fur, toward the other is a squirrel =
tail. Stoneman, and a lot of other worthy artists. Off to one side grins =
a groundhog skull. Obviously, I have months of work ahead of me to come =
up with a good balance between lightness and corniness.
As in the case of the cat exvoto I posted here back in March, the =
Museum's blinkered and tragically unimaginative collections committee =
says we won't try to acquire the artifact. Don't forget, you can help! =
While Leroy meditates on his favorite fallen log.
But it's still The National Gallery of Art, by god.
He knows every inch of the way, and who owns it, and who used to own it, =
what they used to do here, and what became of them.
