Minutes of Exec Meeting (February 14, 2007)
Administrative notes:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Start: 7:16pm
End: 7:36pm
Present: austein, ccrazy, ekate, holmesmd, kchen, mitchb, riv, zev
Officers' reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SVP (hopp):
Not here.
MVP (droshan):
Not here.
FVP (zev):
zev: We have Black Morbid. You should stay.
zev: I was thinking that as soon as we get pledges we should
destroy
those couches so we don't have to have them sitting
around the office.
ekate: We have three pledges left over from last term, I
think.
Treasurer (huananz):
Not here.
AC (gregp):
Not here.
PubDir (riv):
riv: So, I picked out pictures to go on our postering thing in
the infinite, um, I need to figure out where to get
them printed up. The end.
riv: Do people know their schedules well enough so I can set
up drop poster things?
riv: OK, I will send e-mail asking for people's preferred
times. End of detour.
APOcEd (kkbrown):
OM (ekate):
ekate: I have this task list of things to do. I know I need
to deal with problems like cockroaches. I might
figure it out this weekend.
zev: Do we actually have cockroach problems?
ekate: We presumably have problems in the soda fridge.
*people look in soda fridge*
Historian (austein):
austein: I'm putting together a historian's roll for this term.
Advisory Comm. Chair (ccrazy):
holmesmd: Hi Ellen.
ccrazy: Hi. I don't have much.
President (holmesmd):
holmesmd: Yeah, I have nothing. Other than the almost dying
in Central. So ice and brick, and sliding long
distances.
yukikaze: riv never gets obsessed with anything, especially
not online.
Committee reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
riv: PhysplantAppreciationDayComm: Does running around at 9:30
in the morning on a school day mean people won't do
it?
austein: Those who are up probably have classes, and those who
aren't probably want to sleep.
riv: We want to be on campus when they have their shift
changes, and some of those are at 9:30 in the morning.
We want to hand out cookies and cards to physplant
people. In order to not do this 24 hours a day, we
want to do this when people change shifts.
ekate: What are you guys doing here in this secure location?
We're just giving you cookies. That can't possibly go
wrong.
ekate: 3 AM sounds better than 9 AM.
yukikaze: Getting people to sign up ahead of time doesn't mean
they'll show up.
mitchb: Bob London never got back to me on his own about hotel
stuff, so I called him yesterday. They didn't find
anything good to do since the rate we paid was the
rate for the room. I get the impression that he was
hoping that we'd forget about it. He said to make
copies of the invoice and send them to him, and
Nationals will send us a check.
Old Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~
riv: Is there old business? Let's look like last meeting's
minutes. Except for the things that need to wait on
the treasurer.
holmesmd: Any business at all?
riv: It'd be nice if some other officers were here.
New Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~
holmesmd: Is there actually anything else for us to talk about?
Announcements:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
holmesmd: Do we have any projects coming up?
riv: Prison Books!
yukikaze: Have you talked to "ie"?
kchen: How do you spell "ie"?
yukikaze: "y" or "ie".
zev: 2.7.
ekate: Presumably they can't go either because there's a big
house meeting.
riv: You should send mail saying officers send officer reports
ahead of time in case you're lame.
PFTGOTO:
~~~~~~
riv: Bring your milkcaps! That's sort of PFTGOTO.
riv: OK, poke.
holmesmd: Do we have any announcements or PFTGOTO or anything
to talk about?
austein: I hear there's Black Morbid.
holmesmd: You know, the quicker we end this the quicker I can
go buy stuff.
riv: The end. That's my PFTGOTO.
holmesmd: Next time I'll have an agenda or something to talk
about.
riv: Is this the thing where you take classes that you'll be
done with halfway through?
holmesmd: I didn't get into those classes, so I'm taking 60
units that last the entire time.
ekate: Does the bidding system work in any interesting ways?
I thought it might be one of those things where you
have x number of points and you bid for classes.
holmesmd: That's how it works, but it's not interesting.
