Many of you may remember meeting Joe Kuchta, one of our chapter
advisors, at Initiation or steak fry in recent years.

Yesterday, I got a phone call from Joe Kuchta's daughter Helen in
response to a message I left on Joe's answering machine a few weeks
ago. She told me that Joe had had a stroke back in August and has been
recovering since then. There was a lot of initial loss of function
both physical and mental from the stroke, but he has gained a lot of
ground. He is now walking with a walker and most of his mental acuity
has returned, though like many stroke patients, has periods of
confusion. Joe recently moved from a nursing home to an assisted
living facility.

The assisted living facility is in Illinois as he wanted to be with
the youngest generation of his family for Christmas. It is not yet
clear whether he will be staying in Illinois permanently or coming
back to New England. He has family in both places.

Helen says that Joe would probably appreciate hearing from people,
either cards or phone calls. If you do call, the best time to call is
in the morning as that is when he is at his best.

His current address is:

Joe Kuchta
Devonshire
1700 Robin Lane #522
Lisle, IL 60532

His phone number is 630-964-9886.

Y.i.S.
Ellen
