It is with great excitement that I get to inform those of you who did
not have the pleasure of attending Steak Fry of a monumentous event in
Alpha Chi history that occurred this evening.
It all started around 4pm while Sarah and I were scouring the office for
items to discard, err, sell at Steak Fry. For a time, we were lacking in
interesting items. Sure, we found shoes, shirts, buttons, cups, and lots
of standard fare. But something was missing - something big - something
that would bring joy to people's hearts when they saw it at Steak Fry.
And then, the idea came to us. Could we do it? No, it would be wrong.
It would be heavy. How would we ever move it? But it would solve oh so
many problems, and even shorten the length of Chapter meetings. It had to
be done, and so we enlisted the aid of Mandi for transportation of the
Secret Bonus Auction Item.
It was kept a big secret, hidden in a desolate corner of Talbot, lying in
wait under a paint cloth to avoid discovery before it was too late. And
then, the time came, and a cold-hearted evil plotting Sheets described the
item quite loquaciously, making claims of fine quality Italian handcrafting.
Ultimately, the prized item, after much speculation and discussion, was
won by the unsuspecting pledge, who just narrowly wrenched it from the grasp
of our illustrious President Jimbo by bidding the immense sum of $6.50.
Reactions around the room were precious as Sheets and Mitch unveiled the grand
prize.
Problem solved. 8-)
We hope Matt enjoys his well-deserved cat shelter and associated accessories.
