Brothers, pledges, prospectives, and APO alumni,
I'd just like to make it clear that you're all welcome to find and
organize your own service projects. If there's an organization or
cause you're passionate and interested in helping, feel free to
organize an event with them. For example, you might have a particular
interest in helping disabled children, or doing projects that benefit
diabetes sufferers, or whatever you feel a personal connection with.
All I ask is that you check with me to make sure it doesn't interfere
with any of our other projects. For your scheduling convenience, I've
made a list below of all the service projects that are coming up.
Keep in mind that we also have study breaks, meetings, and the like,
so check the office in the calendar for any conflicts.

---------important stuff starts here---------

Harvard-MIT Math Tournament
Today, February 25th

National Oceanographic Sciences Bowl (Lobster Bowl)
Friday, March 3rd--evening setup
Saturday, March 4th--Lobster Bowl, act as runners and such during the
day, cleanup in the evening.
NEEDS A PC-----pledges welcome to PC!

Bikes Not Bombs Container Loading
Sunday, March 5th
Bikes Not Bombs is loading donated bikes, bike parts, and accessories
into a huge shipping container to be mailed to Guatemala (or Ghana, I
can't remember), and they need volunteer help!

First Chapter Weekend!!!
Friday, March 10 through Saturday, March 11
Needs PC and a location (PC decides location, more on this later)

Child Care Resource Center
Satuday, March 18
8 AM - 2:30 PM
Yes, it's early, but you get to work with children and serve food and
organize a really good event
NEEDS A PC

FIRST Robotics Competition
March 24th, 25th, 26th
Volunteers needed to set up, keep it running smoothly
This is an awesome event because of the variety of ways high school
students achieve the competition goals, and you get to see them!
Anyone who hasn't left for spring break at this time should do this project!!!

BIG SCREWWWWWWW!!!
April 3-7
Needs PC's, professor nominations, will be awesome
For the unknowing:
Big Screw is a well-known yearly APO fundraiser where students get to
vote on the professors or MIT staff that have screwed them over the
most. They vote by giving money to each screwer's charity fund. At
the end of the week, all of the money goes to the charity selected by
the Biggest Screwer (they also get a huge left-handed aluminum
screw). We've raised upwards of $1500 in the past, and hope to do the
same this year.
NOTE: Big Screw starts right after we get back from spring break, so
we _really_ need to get a head start on this.

Cradles to Crayons
Thursday, April 13
Clean up toys, books, and clothing that will be given to
underprivileged children and mothers.
Needs a PC

Second Chapter Weekend
(flexible, can be rescheduled or not happen at all)
Friday, April 14
Saturday, April 15
Needs a PC and a location!!!

Charles River Cleanup
Saturday, April 29
working with service groups from all over Cambridge to clean up the
banks of The Charles.
Organized by the Charles River Conservancy
Needs a PC

Officers: Tell me if any of these projects interfere with anything
you have planned and I'll do my best to reschedule. My apologies if they do.

Hope to see you all at the projects!!!

YiLFS,
Vlad
