We had a great showing on Friday, with a total of $292.52 raised on that
day alone. A surprise candidate, David Roe (running on behalf of the
Hochschild-Serre Spectral Sequence) raised $184 at the last minute,
winning the contest. A total of $533.28 was raised and will be donated to
UNICEF toward Pakistan earthquake relief. At the awards ceremony tonight,
David recieved a handmade trophy and delivered a brief (but confusing)
lecture on HSSS. Many thanks to all who voted, and the outstanding
candidates, especially the first runner-up, George Eng ($119.21) and the
second runner-up, Orian Welling ($84.29). Comprehensive totals are at the
end of this email. See you next year, in whatever form UM{OC,0K} appears!
