OK, we've got a problem concerning Big Screw.

Thursday night, Henning deposited ~$97 in the office strongbox. Friday
afternoon, he attempted to retrieve it, only to find it gone.

If you have any information regarding this, please send me email immediately.
Please reply to me; do not reply to apo-news.

A couple of notes:
	1. I do not suspect foul play on the part of the brothers nor
pledges. If things are really that bad, then Planck's Constant has been
redefined to 2.4 and I might as well give up.
	2. I have not ruled out an outsider getting inside the office.
This, however, is highly unlikely in my mind, as there was $20 in a nearby
jar (monies from the 6.003 exam).
	3. The main possibility I see is that a brother got confused and
removed the money from the strongbox. The operative question is where did
it go. An important secondary question is whether or not the money got
counted twice -- a $97 shift would change the current contest results.

I am attempting to resolve this issue by Monday morning so that we can
announce a winner. Until then, there is no official, unofficial,
rumored, or otherwise, winner.

Please mention this message with the other brothers and pledges you see;
that way, hopefully it'll spread quickly and we can hopefully get to the
bottom of this by the Monday deadline. As I stated above, please do not
discuss this with anyone outside the chapter, as highly incorrect rumors
could be very damaging to the chapter's image.

If you worked the booth on Friday, please leave me a message (either on the
office board or via email) stating what you know about this. I suspect that
for most of you, it'll be "Gee, dave, nothing." :)

I will be holding my usual office hour from noon to 1pm tomorrow; after
5pm, i'll either be in the office or online.

Thank you for your cooperation.
