EXECCOMM 3/30/94 7:32pm

PRESENT: Richard, Henning, Amy, Ezra, Bridget, Ping, Jerry, Kate, Traci
Ann, Barbara, Jeffrey, Rachel, Christine, Kevin, Dima, Joe, Yale

[Meeting began with Bridget presiding (Dave would have wanted us to start
on time) but then Dave turned up again]

SVP(Bridget): 1. There was a project on the 20th. Thanks to Kevin, Junko and
Charley for finding it and PCing it. (We cleaned rooms in
a building Pine St Inn is opening)
              2. Spring Break. Yah. (SVP got degaussed) Sorry I missed the
execcomm outing ... hope you all behaved yourselves :)
              3. The infamous Easter Egg project is tomorrow afternoon.
Juliana (PC) and five other people are going to cheer up
kids in the Shriners' burn hospital. Yah Juliana :)
              4. Owing to size limit on above, Ping is organising a small
project for this Saturday. read the email.
              5. Big Screw is gearing up ... publicity is underway ... if
anyone feels like climbing chalkboards talk to Richard :)
              6. I don't have an afterfinals PC yet. There were two camps
that wanted work done that we haven;t been back to yet. It's
not like finding a camp actually requires effort.
              7. More projects for people to PC 4/30, 5/8
              8. Anyone thinking about running for SVP ever - I have advice
for you. Nominations are next week. If there is a remote
possibility you would accept a nomination then have a brief
chat with the officer. Make your decision while there is no
                 time pressure.

MVP(Barbara): We have pledges who are all progressing (albeit at different
speeds). The pledge manual has still not gone out (although
Ping is volunteering to help). Pledge Term Review is happening
sooner than you think ... get to know the pledges.

AVP(Kate): We have a new fridge. Be nice to it. WUAPOs went out over Spring
           Break. Phone Lists are updated.

Treas(Kevin): T-shirts came in. Still trying to get money out of 10847.

FVP(Ann): I've been lame. Dave and people went to the aquarium. We have
          steak fry PCs.

APOC(Amy): Write 'what I did for Spring Break articles' please

ASC(Traci): Where are the books - (under the table) - I'll take care of it

PubDir(LeaAnn): [not present - sick]

Hist(Dima): Still working on matching names to pictures.

Adv(Joe): Nothing to report

Big Screw: One candidate so far - 6.003 professor. Talked to food managers
but didn't want to run on platform associated with food as it
has been getting better. Sign up sheet is here. Drop poser,
sign for dexion and infinite corridor board all still need to be
           done.

Ritual Stuff(Christine): Getting started. Doing crests and stuff.

Silkscreen(Rachel): Hygiene people saw silkscreen room and had a fit. It
is being cleaned out. There will be a run on Saturday.

Pres(Dave): Office has stereo. Office has fridge (thanks Kate). Sectional
service project info went out today. NomComm met on Friday
so expect to be hunted down .. better still come talk to us.

NEW BUSINESS:
------------

We have been asked to sponsor an event in Walker Memorial in June for
People Making a Difference. (This is a charity that was founded by
Lori Tsuruda (mold) and runs service projects for people to go on). The
event is a fundraiser. Only ASA groups and departments can reserve Walker.
There was a long discussion about liability and other issues that could
arise from the event. It is clear that MIT is ultimately liable as it is
their property and they have lots of money. PMD seemed very well organised
and is planning on having CPs there. It was strongly agreed that APO does
not want to set a precedent by sponsoring outside events. In generaly
the chapter does not want to sponsor events. However an exception could
be made in this case.

A vote was taken resulting in a 5-0-5 decision to sponsor the event.

Dave suggested writing a standing policy along the lines of 'AXcoAPO does
not in general sponsor events by outside groups'
