How is the BSO thing going along? Are we going? The GSC has cheap tickets
to one that I am considering going to.
If I my memory serves me right, Gabrieli is a Baroque composer. So this
concert has Baroque, Romantic, and Contemporary.... :) Btw, the Brahms
concerto is cool to lots of people even though it's not my personal
favorite. And I went to the open rehearsal by Yo-yo Ma (who is the soloist
for this concert) and I think that the Harbison is a good piece.
If you are interested, please let me or Ann (aiyen@mit) know as soon as
possible!
Gilbert

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
The conductor for the BSO will be Seiji Ozawa.
The program is:
Gabrieli's Canzona per sonare
Habrison's cello concerto
Brahams DOuble Cocerto for violin and cello
You DO need to reserve tickets beginning this Wed. Go to the GSC office,
222 Walker Memorial - 2nd floor overlooking the Charles River, with a CHECK
for $10 for each ticket you want (you can take up to one guest.) The day of
the concert you pick up your tickets and get a $5 deposit back.
I hope this answerers your questions.
