Here's a timely plan, considering the demise of our dining hall
and the prices at the convenience store. It'll be most efficient
if you respond to the "survey questions" about potential use of the
service, etc. directly to cuthbert@mit. (Note: just because the
Graduate Student Council are proposing the idea doesn't mean that
only grad students could use it!)

Subject: Grocery Shuttle
Date: Tue, 15 Feb 94 22:46:43 EST

The GSC is considering launching a shuttle service to nearby supermarkets.
Most likely, the service would go to the Stop and Shop on Memorial Drive,
though it may go instead to the Star Market at the Twin Cities shopping
plaza on the Cambridge/Somerville line. The service would initially
operate once a week, on Saturdays. Vans would be used, and they would
run in a continuous loop from 12-4PM. The fee for the service has yet
to be decided.

Before the shuttle can be launched, we need to know the potential demand.
If you are think you would utilize this service, please let me know, by
email at cuthbert@mit or by phone at x3-7942. Also indicate how much you
would be willing to pay per roundtrip (zero is a valid answer) and
approximately how much you spend per shopping trip. Other suggestions,
such as day of week or hours of operation, are also welcome.

Also, if you know people who would be interested in this service but
are not on this mailing list, please pass this message on to them.

Thank you,

David Cuthbert
Transportation Chair, GSC
