Greetings:
This is an Alpha Chi Alumni Association special edition announcement
produced by Caroline Roos, SVP.
Any one out there remember the actives? Ok, so its true they don't
remember us. But nevertheless, we, The Alumni, are suppose to be
serving the actives right? Well, between eavesdropping on their
E-mail, asking them, and making things up on my own, I have composed
the following list of ways that you (if you are local) can help and
interact with Alpha Chi.
1) Joint Afterfinals
2) Drivers List
3) Mentors List
4) Big Uncles
Information on these 4 follow:
If you have any other ideas, especially if you are an active (I send
this out to apo-news@mit.edu so the actives can eavesdrop on alumni
E-mail too) please let me know.
1. Joint Afterfinals - Help Wanted:
I am looking for someone to joint PC spring Afterfinals with an
active. Spring Afterfinals is scheduled for May 27 to 31, Memorial
Day Weekend. Bridget and I have a vision of a fun joint afterfinals
with service, games, canoeing, campfires and a facilities for families
to overnight. So, being the SVPs we are, we are looking for someone
to make our dreams a reality. I imagine Bridget will find someone,
but if I donUt get a response to this ad I am going to drop the whole
idea. If you would like to do this, donUt wait for me to call
begging, or see if someone else will volunteer first. This is it.
This is all the advertising IUm going to do, if I donUt get an alumni
PC then it just wonUt happen. Which would be too bad because it could
be a lot of fun. So please contact me and volunteer: Caroline Roos,

2) Drivers List
This is the current drivers list. I know there are a lot of you out
there who would be willing to be on this list. I suggest we also add
a third category. Desperation Drivers. Let me know if you are
willing to be added and in what category. Cline17@aol.com

4) Big Uncles
I have the alumni I need to get this going but I am stalled on gettig
an Active who will printout this information, make it available, and
get actives going on arranging the dinner. Here is a description of
the program for those who are not familiar with it. If you are
interested in participating contact Cline17@aol.com.
Feed a Hungry Active
In conjunction with the active chapter we are trying out a new Alumni
Big Uncles program. Local area alumni volunteer to host first term
brothers and their big brothers at their house for dinner. The goals
of the program are:
1) Recruiting for AXAA: Let the active know about AXAA in a positive
way and make them feel more comfortable with it because its not full
of strangers.
2) Making alumni more comfortable with the actives and creating more
inter-generational connections.
3) Let the first term brothers know that APO continues after
graduation.
4) Give the actives a chance to get off campus, have a home cooked
meal, see what life after graduation is like, etc.
If you are interested please fill out the following information and
return it to me. The information will go into a folder in the office.
The actives will pick out a name and give you a call.
I recommend that households with more than one brother sign-up as a
household.
