Hello there, all....I hope you are enjoying your last days of
freedom (well, pseudo-freedom for those of you working on theses and
taking real classes, and real freedom for those of us more sane
people ;9)...Here are some proposed fun and happy and kind of mellow
activities...
1) I was looking through the Tech today and I saw this fine arts section
and there seem to be several cool long-running MIT exhibits showing:
"Doc Edgerton: Stopping Time", "Crazy After Calculus: Humor at MIT"
(history of hacks), Holography, and MathSpace to name a few things
that caught my eyes.
How does Saturday at 1 PM sound (the 22nd)? We'll meet in the office.
The museum is open from 1-5 weekends. There's a "donation" of $2,
but depending on how many people go, it might come out of the
Fellowship budget(?)...(That is, if anyone really doesn't want to pay.)
2) "The Foundling" is an "original comic opera" playing in Walker on
the 29th, and 30th (Saturday and Sunday) at 8:30 and 7, respectively
and on the 4th and 6th of February (Friday and Saturday) at 8:30.
Tickets are $5 for prisoners...oops, I meant students of MIT and
$8 for the community. Would anyone be interested in this?
3) John Kohl is singing with the Tanglewood Chorus (I think) on
the 29th as well. Would anyone like to cheer on one of our
important moldy people? ;)
Write me back! I shall announce these wondrous tidings at Exec Comm
as well, and they'll be in the APOc, and maybe I'll even send out another
mini-notice through the snail express, but other than that I don't
know how to notify people...Any suggestions?
The museum trip will be at the time I said above unless anyone has
serious objections. Let me know if you're planning on coming so that I
don't show up to the office Saturday and become a fire hazard (park
myself on the couches and sleep if no one shows up).
WRITE ME BACK! (just use the reply command or push the silly button in
Xmh)...=) I'll be waiting by the workstation. =)
YiLFS,
Ann (=
