Harry sent email about this a couple of days ago, and now here I am to
fill in some details. Berklee (as in School of Music across the Charles
River, not that radical nest of hippies in the 60's) currently has an
INTEREST GROUP. For those of you who don't know what that means, that's
one of the first steps in forming a new chapter at a new campus; they'll
probably become a petitioning group Real Soon Now. (YAY!)
They're holding a dance/party this Friday evening (important statistics:
starts around 9:30pm, address 150 Mass. Ave, which is just two blocks
from Tower Records; admission $3 at the door, $2 if purchased in
advance, which means if you tell me in advance you're going) to raise
funds for the Mass. Coalition for the Homeless (MCH). Funny how it's a
small world, because one of our service projects earlier this term was
at MCH (clearing their warehouse).
Anyway, the Berklee interest group has invited us to come. Not only come
and attend and have fun at the party and help raise money for MCH, but
also to help set up for the party if we're so inclined. :) [Setting up
would start around 8:00pm.] Other chapters in the area, including Zeta
Upsilon (Boston University) (*), have also been so invited.
It sounds like a fun way to meet some cool people who are working to
bring APO and its ideals etc. to a new campus, and possibly meet some
brothers from other chapters, too. Could be fun! One of the neat things
about being in APO is interacting with students from other schools who
share some of your beliefs, ideals, and willingness to get up at ungodly
hours for project. :) It's also important for us to show some support
for the interest group and lend them a hand to help make one of their
first service projects a success. I didn't promise any particular number
when I talked to their service vice president this afternoon, but it
would be nice to round up a dozen brothers and pledges to go over.
Dave Cho and I both want to catch some of the musical performances
Friday evening, so we're going to be in Lobby 7 around 10pm or so
waiting for gather up everyone else who wants to go over around that
time (email me so we know roughly how many to expect) and head over in a
big mob. However, if there are a bunch of you who would like to head
over right after a late Friday dinner trip and help with dance set-up
(they said they could *REALLY* use some help...), email me and I'll
coordinate something for you folks, too.
Also, remember we're having a service project on Saturday morning! Bryan
should be contacting everyone with details on that Real Soon Now.
(Yes, Bryan, this is an unsubtle hint.... :)

(*) As for those certain brothers from Zeta Upsilon which didn't exactly
get along well with certain brothers from our chapter.... well, most of
them are long graduated by now -- so it's a moot issue, right?
