This is an Alpha Chi Alumni Association announcement.
INTRODUCTION
If you've never helped out at one of these haunted house things its
really a blast, but bring throat lozenges if you like to moan or shout
boo. A Halloween Fair at George's Is is our project with the actives
for this term. It sounds like a lot of fun. Also, if you have any
left after the vampires, blood night is coming right up.

CALENDAR:
Saturday 10/16 *SOCIAL* AX Steak Fry
Garrotings. No, wait, aaaagh!
The Fall 1993 AXcoAPO Steak Fry will be October 16 at 6pm, Next
House Country Kitchen. Bring Your Own Knife. Auction will hopefully
commence at 8pm, since I'd like to have Auction wrapped up by 9:30, so
those who want to go to the second showing of LSC (Last Action Hero)
(as if they would -want- to, but hey, that's their option) can. Btw, 6pm
means that we'll start taking order at 6pm, so if you like 5 second steaks,
6:00pm is the time to show up. RSVP: (617) 253-3788.
Saturday 10/23 *SERVICE* City Year Servathon.
If you want to sign-up for the day call City Year at 451-0699. Be
sure to include your choice of PC when you register.
Dave Krikorian: Rogers-Pierce Children's Center, a nursery school
near Arlington center. This is a painting project with room for 25
to 30 people.
10/21-10/30 *SERVICE* Franklin Park Zoo
Haunt the zoo. Volunteers to run The Enchanted Forest '93, a
candlelit trail through a land of fantasy and mystery, as Boston Children's
Theatre stages scenes from favorite stories - Hansel and Gretal, Sleeping
Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, The Hobbit, a real Headless Horseman, and
more. It'san old-fashioned evening of Halloween fun for the whole family.
6-8:30 pm at least two night commitment required. Call Kara at

Saturday 10/30 *SERVICE* AX
Staffing a Halloween fair on George's Island. This sounds like a fun
project for alumni to attend, especially those with children. There
will be free transport for volunteers sometime in the morning. Bay
State Cruise Lines is running a 12:00 and 1:00 ferry for the public,
if you want to go on one of these call soon for a reservation at (617)
723-7800. If you want to volunteer please contact John Hollywood at
(617)253-3788 jshollyw@MIT.EDU. DEM wants the names of volunteers the
week before the project.
Tuesday 11/2 *SERVICE* AXAA First-Tuesday-of-every-Odd-Month Blood
Drive.
First-Tuesday-Of-Every-Odd-Numbered-Month Blood-Drive-&-Dinner-Trip
Those donating should arrive 6-6:45 pm at the Burlington Bloodmobile
site near the Burlington Mall. Contact Ellen at ekranzer@harvard.edu
or ccrazy@athena.mit.edu for directions and so she can tell the Red
Cross how many people to expect and arrange transportation for those
without cars. People are welcome to come for dinner only, please
arrive at the Burlington Bloodmobile site by 7 pm. If you aren't in
the Boston area, you are encouraged to also give blood on this date
and write Ellen about it. If there are a number of brothers in your
area, think about organizing a FTOEONMBD&DT in your area. If you are
eligible to donate blood and the FTOEONM schedule isn't good for you,
please stop by your local Red Cross or hospital donor center when it
is convenient for you.
Saturday 11/6 *SERVICE* PMD
Stone Transitional Housing for women and children for women from the
Stone House Battered Women Shelter, Roxbury, Cleaning and Painting,
9:30 to 5:30. Sign-up by 10/25 @ (617)426-1343 or lori@pmd.org.
SATURDAY 12/4 *SERVICE* PMD
St. Francis House, Boston, a day shelter for homeless people. Project
is painting, serving lunch, cleaning. 9:30-4:30. Sign up before
11/17 @ (617) 426-1343 or lori@pmd.org.

you aren't going to do it? Talk to me....
Anyway I'm pushing the George's Island thing as our project with the
actives this term so please get the word out on that. Plus blood
