Greetings:

This is an Alpha Chi Alumni Association announcement.

INTRODUCTION
Something for everyone! Projects, projects, projects!  I'm sure you'll
find something you'll like.  Here are some highlights.
Don't forget BEAVER DAY is next Saturday.  Sunday is an apple picking 
social. If you have kids, check out PMD project at the Franklin Park Zoo.

CALENDAR:

Saturday 10/2 *SERVICE* AXAA Beaver Day
Yes its BEAVER DAY at the YMCA!  Close down and fix up beautiful camp 
Massapoug in Dunstable. Directions: Take Rt 3 to Exit 35, North 
Dunstable.  Rt. 113 West 3.5 mile then bear left onto Groton St.   
Take 2nd left onto Hall St.  1/2 mile just after the power lines camp 
Massapoug is on the left.  The project will run 10:00 to 2:00 with 
lunch provided at 2:00. 

Sunday 10/3 *SOCIAL* AXAA Apple picking/Wine tasting
Nashoba Valley Winery 1pm.  Direction Rt. 495 Exit 27.  Take rt. 117W 
1 mi. to Bolton Ctr.  Left at blinking light.  Winery is 1/4 mi. on 
left.  RSVP Lori Anderson (617) 489-4510. 

Friday-Monday 10/9-11 *SERVICE* AX Chapter Weekend I
Rowley Center Girl Scout campsite 35 mi from Boston.  Call the office
253-3788 for more information or to volunteer to drive.

Saturday 10/16 *SERVICE* AX  Mass. Coalition for the Homeless.  Call 
the office (253-3788) for details.

Saturday 10/16 *SOCIAL* AX Steak Fry
Garrotings.  No, wait, aaaagh!
The Fall 1993 AXcoAPO Steak Fry will be October 16 at 6pm, Next
House Country Kitchen.  Bring Your Own Knife.  Auction will hopefully
commence at 8pm, since I'd like to have Auction wrapped up by 9:30, 
so those who want to go to the second showing of LSC (Last Action Hero) 
(as if they would -want- to, but hey, that's their option) can.  Btw, 6pm 
means that we'll start taking order at 6pm, so if you like 5 second steaks,
6:00pm is the time to show up. RSVP: (617) 253-3788.

Sunday 10/17 *SERVICE* PMD Franklin Park Zoo
Ground Work from 9:30-4.  Families with children welcome.  The Brooks 
and Meeks families will be attending.  Sign up before 10/4  @ (617)

Saturday 10/23 *SERVICE*  City Year Servathon.  
I am going to try to list PCs and their projects.  If you want to 
sign-up for the day call City Year at 451-0699.  Be sure to include 
your choice of PC when you register.
Dave Krikorian: Rogers-Pierce Children's Center, a nursery school
near Arlington center.  This is a painting project with room for 25 
to 30 people.  

Tuesday 11/2 *SERVICE*  AXAA First-Tuesday-of-every-Odd-Month Blood 
Drive.  In Burlington.  Directions will appear later.

Saturday 11/6 *SERVICE* PMD
Stone Transitional Housing, Roxbury, Cleaning and Painting, 9:30 to 
5:30.  Sign-up by 10/25 @ (617)426-1343 or lori@pmd.org.


Saturday-Sunday 11/20-1 *SERVICE*  ESP - Splash
Splash is a weekend event held by the Educational Studies Program at 
MIT.  Volunteers are needed to teach 7th - 12th graders just about 
anything you would like to teach them.  Classes can range from 1 to 12
hours in length and subjects range from tap dancing, to nuclear 
technology, to the history of religion.  But preparation is the key to
a good course so plan ahead and contact Dale Worley at

(617)253-4882.

SATURDAY 12/4 *SERVICE* PMD
St. Francis House, Boston, Painting, Serving Lunch,  Cleaning. 
9:30-4:30.  Sign up before 11/17  @ (617) 426-1343 or lori@pmd.org.

PHONE CALLERS:
Please make contact with your callees.  Let them know about Beaver Day
and Apple picking.  Lori wants RSVP for Nashoba Valley but  YMCA 
doesn't seem to want them for Beaver Day.  Mention Steak Fry and 
Chapter Weekend.  Let me or Ping know if there is any interest in 
driving for chapter weekend.  Throw in a sprinkling of the rest 
depending on interest.  People who are out of touch may not know that 
the blood drive is now in Burlington or what PMD or City Year are.  
Don't forget to ask about E-mail access.
